Ufton Court

Venue hire

Steeped in history and situated in 16 acres of stunning countryside on the Berkshire/Hampshire borders, Ufton Court is proud to have opened its doors for filming and photography for the first time.

With a diverse range of backdrops, the venue can cater for a variety of projects.

At the heart of Ufton Court is a stunning Grade 1 listed Tudor Manor House, which has been maintained and restored in a traditional Tudor style, with its steeply pitched gable roof numerous embellished windows.

Parts of the House date back to 1474, but in 1568 the House was bought by Lady Marvyn who, over eight years, altered and enlarged the House into what we see today.  The House sits at the end of a sweeping driveway and amongst acres of ancient woodland, all of which is open for film and photography crews.

In the grounds of the House, the traditional 16th Century Tithe Barn is a light and airy space with impressive oak beams and white wash brick walls, and Archer’s Hall, a more intimate space with similar décor.

Behind the House sits a walled garden which is home to a recreation of a dark age settlement, usually used as part of the Ufton History programme for schools.

Ufton Court is situated on the Englefield Estate, an established filming location with the House and Grounds having featured in numerous films and TV programmes, including X:Men First Class, The King’s Speech, award-winning Netflix series The Crown, and Agatha Christie’s Poirot.

Less than 30 minutes’ drive from the centre of Reading and within easy reach of London, the M3 and the M4, Ufton Court is easily accessible for film and photography crews and has ample parking and good access for lorries and crew vehicles.

Ufton is open to filming and photography projects of all sizes, with all areas of the site available for use.
