Delighted music fans have praised the bands - and the fabulous setting - after three successful concerts were hosted at Englefield House.
The Bootleg Beatles, Richard Ashcroft and Hozier performed on successive nights from July 21 to 23 at the events staged by Heritage Live, which organises summer concerts at some of England’s most beautiful and culturally significant venues.
Guests who enjoyed the shows against the backdrop of the magnificent Englefield House praised the Berkshire venue and the smooth organisation – despite rain on Friday and more downpours on the Saturday night for Richard Ashcroft.
The Bootleg Beatles, described as the world’s premier Beatle band, kicked off the three nights of performance supported by two other world-renowned tribute bands, the Counterfeit Stones and Noasis. All three acts faithfully recreated the sights and sounds of the bands they emulate - the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Oasis – earning heartfelt praise from the fans who packed Englefield.
One fan posted on social media: “Had a fabulous time at Bootleg Beatles. Such a lovely venue.”
Richard Ashcroft, former frontman of the 90s rock band, The Verve, drew a crowd of 9,500 for his concert on Saturday July 22. The iconic singer-songwriter and two-time Ivor Novello award winner, was supported by Ocean Colour Scene and The Sherlocks.
One fan wrote: “The weather didn’t stop us enjoying the show, everyone had an amazing time last night seeing Ashcroft! Well organised and the stage was huge, didn’t expect that!” Another said: “Drove from Durham to see Richard Ashcroft at Englefield and he didn't disappoint. Worth every drop of rain. Really was a special evening. Thank you for the memories.”
The Heritage Live events were rounded off on Sunday with a show by Hozier. The award-winning multi-platinum-selling Irish singer songwriter performed before a crowd of 7,500, with support acts Far From Saints and Victoria Canal.
Fans were full of praise for the Englefield Estate as a concert venue. One wrote on social media: “If you ever get a chance to watch a concert at Englefield Estate…what a stunning venue. It’s all so elevated so perfect view from anywhere – and all the bands were class.”
