Music legends to take to the stage at Englefield Estate this summer

Music legends Sir Tom Jones, Madness and Il Divo are warming up for a weekend of summer concerts being staged in the grounds of Englefield House near Theale, West Berkshire in July.

British pop icons Madness, who have 15 UK Top 10 hit singles under their belts including Our House, House of Fun, and It Must Be Love, will perform on Friday, July 6th as part of their four-date tour, Stately Madness taking in three stately homes and a castle.

All-male classical pop foursome Il Divo, who have achieved 30 million album sales globally as the world’s first and most successful classical crossover group, will perform on Saturday, July 7th, as part of their Castles and Country Tour of England and Wales.

Day three of the series of outdoor concerts at the Estate on Sunday, July 8th, will feature one of pop’s most distinguished artists and recognisable voices, Sir Tom Jones, who has sold in excess of 100 million records and whose phenomenal career includes 36 UK Top 40 hits. Sir Tom, whose accolades include a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and a Silver Clef Award for Lifetime Achievement, is performing at Englefield as part of a six-date celebration of his enduring six-decade career.

This is the first time Englefield Estate has hosted live music events with the venue selected by music promotors Cuffe & Taylor, for its beautiful setting in the grounds of Englefield House.

The House and its grounds are open for events including weddings, corporate functions and charity fundraisers throughout the year. It has featured in high-profile film and television productions, including appearing as Sandringham in the award-winning Netflix series, The Crown.

Englefield Estate House and Events Manager, Peter Carson, said: “We enjoy welcoming people to the Estate and are looking forward to hosting music concerts here for the first time. The line-up over the three-day weekend is incredible. It’s a privilege to be included in the national tours of such acclaimed performers.”

Il Divo and Sir Tom Jones are both seated and Madness standing only (although concert-goers are permitted one folding chair each at Madness). There will be a disabled-friendly area at each of the concerts, with space for picnic blankets further away from the stage.

Cuffe & Taylor Director Peter Taylor, added: “Englefield House is a beautiful iconic British stately home which will provide a stunning backdrop to the performances of these revered music legends.

“Sir Tom is a true music great. We have presented many shows with him and it never fails to impress me just what a magnificent performer he is. His voice is incredible and the crowds absolutely adore him.

“Madness are a great British institution and are one of the best live acts around, with a show of unbridled fun, Madness-style mayhem and songs that have become ingrained into the nation’s musical psyche over the last 30 years.

“Il Divo are superstars who have millions of fans around the world and we are thrilled to be bringing them back to the UK.

“All performers have tremendous stage presence and the concerts are set to be truly memorable.”
